When high in the atmosphere, Minishrew curls up and slows the effects of time on itself, almost completely stopping aging. When it falls to earth, researchers seek it out to determine how old it is.
When it curls up in a ball, it can make any attack bounce off harmlessly. Originally making its home in the ozone layer, it hurtles to the ground when the shell enclosing its body grows too heavy.
