When Mawkoth is awake, the maw upon its tail is asleep; likewise, when it is asleep, the maw on its tail is awake. Mawkoth awakens when attacked or when it is hungry, but in either case, it focuses on eating and going back to sleep.
It sleeps virtually all day and night long. Its giant jaws are actually steel horns that transformed.
