Mawkia is often described and portrayed in ancient drawings as the "Gatekeeper of Space" in Sinnohese myths. It rarely battles with its bident, but when it does, its slashes tear apart space itself, creating a dangerous, black hole–like rift.

It has the ability to distort space. Its giant jaws are actually steel horns that transformed.
