Magmie are typically found stuck to the walls of volcano craters, just below the magma's surface. When out of lava, they must constantly spin the flaming arms on their backs to prevent themselves from hardening.

People in ancient times imagined that Magmie were transformed from the reflections of stars that twinkled on gentle waves at night. The shell on its back is made of hardened magma.
