These small and numerous bug Pokémon primarily live underground in volcanic regions, especially where sulfur is plentiful. They consume sulfur on a regular basis, which seems to have imbued their red spikes and horns with toxic properties.
The male Nidoran has developed muscles that freely move its ears in any direction. The base of volcanoes is where they make their homes.
