Lairnix is incredibly territorial, attacking any other Pokémon it encounters underground with strikes from its iron head. If this does not drive it off, Lairnix will tunnel in the opposite direction.
There is a magnet in its brain that prevents an Lairnix from losing direction while tunneling. When two Lairnix meet in the wild, they fight for territory by bashing into each other with their steel bodies.
