This colossal Pokémon prefers to live atop cold mountains, though it is often forced to migrate due to mountain climbers mistaking it for a mountain. Some speculate it may actually have been born from the spirits of lost mountain explorers.

It is said that Kyulurk were ordered to protect people and Pokémon by the ancient people who made them. It generates a powerful, freezing energy inside itself, but its body became frozen when the energy leaked out.
