The shell surrounding Kakchic is tough, but it is flexible enough to allow movement. However, it opts to stay in a safe area while awaiting evolution. If it senses danger, Kakchic will harden and heat its shell to ward off predators.
If attacked, it strikes back by spitting balls of fire it forms in its stomach. It remains virtually immobile while it clings to a tree.
