Honchsect's hat is actually an elaborate mushroom. In small doses its spores induce sleep, but in large doses they can place other Pokémon in a hypnotic trance. Wild Honchsect usually ride around on top of a larger Pokémon they control.

Honchsect are known to infest the roots of large trees en masse and drain nutrients. Becoming active at night, it is known to swarm with numerous Murkrow in tow.
