Ho-gon-Z is able to travel between computer programs, seeking to spread colour to the various files it enters. Older computer systems have to be quarantined from Ho-gon-Z as their display systems break when trying to display the vivid colours.
Additional software was installed to make it a better Pokémon. Its feathers--which glow in seven colors depending on the angle at which they are struck by light--are thought to bring joy.
