Just like in the story of the burned tower in Johto, Ho-sand's body crumbles when struck by lightning in a violent storm. Legends claim that by inserting the bones of the deceased into its body, it can revive them anew.

Buried beneath the castle are masses of dried-up bones from those whose vitality it has drained. Its feathers--which glow in seven colors depending on the angle at which they are struck by light--are thought to bring joy.
