Gibper are found in underground rivers. They have very poor eyesight, but their large mouths give them a higher success rate when catching prey. They are antisocial and regularly fight with other Gibper they encounter.
Gibper usually live in water but come out onto land seeking food occasionally. It nests in small, horizontal holes in cave walls.
