Forretrio's body is rather sensitive, so it rarely pokes its heads up very far above ground. Their craniums are protected by a sturdy shell, and they can fire sharp stone projectiles from the growths on their necks.
Because the triplets originally split from one body, they think exactly alike. It keeps itself inside its steel shell.
