Flasect release a hot mixture of spores and embers to propagate the mushroom on their backs. By searing the ground beneath them, the spores have more resources to work with since their competition has been burnt to a crisp.

Flasect are known to infest the roots of large trees en masse and drain nutrients. Flasect's fluffy fur releases heat into the air so that its body does not get excessively hot.
