Espras put Pokémon to sleep by releasing a combination of spores and psychic waves. Their spores are harvested by scientists to create sleep aids that help people and Pokémon fall asleep.

Uniquely-shaped mushrooms grow on Espras's back and emit sparkling spores once a week. The fungi and the spores both seem to temporarily enhance intellect, but come with a hallucinogenic side-effect.

A Espras has parasitic tochukaso mushrooms growing on its back. An Espras is extremely loyal to any trainer it considers to be worthy.
