Ektik shed their scales often because they grow quite fast. Each band on their body is said to represent one month, with many having upwards of 60 to 72 bands at their oldest.
They attach themselves to large-bodied Pokémon and absorb static electricity, which they store in an electric pouch. An Ektik curls itself up in a spiral while it rests.
