Darkbat starts a hunt by purposefully missing its target as it swoops by repeatedly. The close encounters slowly put its prey to sleep, making them helpless to avoid the next bite and subsequent blood-drinking.

While living in pitch-black caverns, their eyes gradually grew shut and deprived them of vision. It can lull people to sleep and make them dream.
