Croder's solid shell and four wings give it a strong defense and excellent maneuverability. To attack, it closes its shell and drops down from above to crack its sturdy body on top of its target.

At night, it burrows a hole in the seafloor with its broad tongue to make a place to sleep. Over the course of evolution, its hind legs turned into wings.
