Cranmer used to live on the seafloor, rolling around and crushing hard shells of Pokémon like Kabuto to eat. Scientists theorize that Cranmer's weight caused them to struggle to reach the surface to breathe, leading to their initial extinction.
While this Pokémon usually lives in the sea, it can survive on land, although not too long. It lived in jungles around 100 million years ago.
