Crader buries itself in the silt of the seafloor, extending its tentacles above to draw in prey before dragging them below to feed. When startled, it jets from its hiding place by blasting water to propel itself away.

At night, it burrows a hole in the seafloor with its broad tongue to make a place to sleep. It drags its heavy body along the seafloor.
