Chartar have shells that are hot to the touch that absorb moisture in the air. Excess moisture rapidly cools down their body, which can cause their cocoon to crack if submerged in water.
A Chartar creates a gas inside its body that it ejects under compression to propel itself like a jet. The flame that burns at the tip of its tail is an indication of its emotions.
