The dowsing rods that Caterkazam carry act as an extension of their antennae and help them detect their surroundings. When threatened, Caterkazam release a horrible stench from one rod while wrapping the foe in string from the other.

While it has strong psychic abilities and high intelligence, an Caterkazam's muscles are very weak. Its voracious appetite compels it to devour leaves bigger than itself without hesitation.
