The wool covering Cartle's back consists of thin glass filaments. When threatened, Cartle will propel large chunks of this substance, which is often embedded with hard gemstones, at targets.

It lives along water in forests. Born from the high temperatures and pressures deep underground, it defends itself by firing beams from the jewel part of its body.
