The blade-like feathers of Birow are said to be so sharp that warriors of the past would use them as the blades of their swords. Supposedly this is why this Pokémon will avoid humans and fervently defend their territory from all invaders.
Its long neck and elongated beak are ideal for catching prey in soil or water. Birow pursues prey in the company of a large group of Pawniard.
