Tanrino's body is comprised of over 300 metres of knotted, thorny vines. These thorns carry a powerful toxin, and an adolescent Tanrino needs to be handled carefully to avoid envenoming its Trainer.

Despite its fearsome appearance and large size, Tanking is a gentle giant. When threatened, it spins the tangling vines on its forehead at high speeds, startling predators and allowing a quick getaway.

Its primary habitat is rough and rocky canyons. Spearlett is rarely seen in the daytime, as it burrows underground and only emerges for short periods to forage for worms and grubs.

Parados's spores are highly contagious and can lie dormant in its prey for months at a time before sprouting into fungal growths. The large mushroom on its head compels Parados to spread the infection as broadly as possible.
