Sandyferno has an almost manic compulsion to dig many holes in the sand at the beach it inhabits. If anything tries to dissuade it from this habit, it repels them with the blue flames on its tail.
To intimidate attackers, it stretches the fire on its tail to make itself appear bigger. It likes the shovel on its head, so Sandyferno will get serious and fight any children who come to take it back.
