Slow both on land and in water, Qwilper is easy prey for many other Pokémon. When danger is nearby, it tries to bury itself in mud but only ends up half-submerged. Its body has adapted to be extremely tough to digest, so most predators don't bother.
Qwilper usually live in water but come out onto land seeking food occasionally. A Qwilper uses the pressure of water it swallows to shoot toxic quills all at once from all over its body.
