The shape of Pineper's head protects it from flying Pokémon that would otherwise predate on it but restricts their field of view. They are very clumsy when walking on land and prefer to spend their time in muddy water, looking up at the sky.

Pineper usually live in water but come out onto land seeking food occasionally. A Pineper hangs from a tree branch and waits for prey.
