Fungal mycelium extends out from the mushroom on Paraew's back, connecting to every part of its body. Paraew uses these long, white filaments to drain life from plants, moving them as easily as it moves its own muscles.

A Paraew is said to possess the genes of all Pokémon. Paraew are known to infest the roots of large trees en masse and drain nutrients.
