Even though Nidosaur have a mature flower on their back, the rest of their body is still developing. They lack the developed venom glands to produce lethal toxins, so they are likely to get harassed by other Pokémon.

Nidosaur's flower is said to take on vivid colors if it gets plenty of nutrition and sunlight. The male Nidoran has developed muscles that freely move its ears in any direction.
