Nidodeen tends to swim in shallow waters, as its fins aren't strong enough to withstand the powerful currents of rivers. It defends itself from predators by striking them with the poisonous horn protruding from the top of its head.
In the springtime, schools of Nidodeen can be seen swimming up falls and rivers. Its highly toxic barbs are thought to have developed as protection for this small-bodied Pokémon.
