Maropede can travel long distances through the desert without needing to stop for water. Their tough hides slow water loss from their bodies. They are hardy Pokémon and can resist most dangers thanks to their bony plates.
It is usually motionless, but when attacked, it rotates at high speed and then crashes into its opponent. A Maropede is the evolved form of a Cubone that has grown tough by overcoming the grief of losing its mother.
