Komtar propels itself through the air by expelling jets of gas from its body. As it does this, the scales trailing behind it jangle like wind chimes, crashing together like cymbals whenever Komtar collides with a solid object.

A Komtar creates a gas inside its body that it ejects under compression to propel itself like a jet. Its rigid scales function as offense and defense.
