To protect its vulnerable body, Klefgela gathers chains to wrap itself in. It does so without hands, so sometimes accidentally chains itself to an object.

Its vines snap off easily and painlessly if they are grabbed, allowing it to make a quick getaway. It never lets go of a key that it likes, so people give it the keys to vaults and safes as a way to prevent crime.
