Hounshrew hunts in small packs in arid desert areas. The pack lies in wait until prey draws near, then takes turns crashing into it from different sides with their curled-up bodies until their target is knocked out.
When it curls up in a ball, it can make any attack bounce off harmlessly. Hounshrew communicate with each other using a variety of cries to corner their prey.
