The increased leaf growth allows Fomantis to make greater use of the sun's rays. Its leaves grow sharper and more closely resemble the insectoid Pokémon attracted to its sweet scent. It may look aggressive, but this is simply its appearance.
Fomantis have much sharper leaves than unfused Fomantis and use them to scythe through jungle plants as they move around the forest. They're able to inflict nasty cuts to unwary Trainers.
