During warm months, Axeper buries itself under the mud by rivers and slows its metabolism. It is active during the cold, winter months, and marks its territory by clearing away any snow or fallen leaves.

Axeper usually live in water but come out onto land seeking food occasionally. They mark their territory by leaving gashes in trees with their tusks.
