Ardile's heavy armor prevents it from floating, so it spends most of its time lying in wait on the water's floor for an unsuspecting Pokémon to swim above. It can remain submerged for up to 24 hours.
Arnaw leads a sedentary lifestyle, resting along the shoreline for long periods. If disturbed while sleeping, it flies into a rage and attacks anything in sight. It no longer spends much time in the water.
