Ho-deen's tail fin emits a short rainbow trail behind it as it swims. When going on the offensive, it closes the beak-like shell over its face for added protection before ramming foes with its beak and horn in tandem.

In the springtime, schools of Ho-deen can be seen swimming up falls and rivers. Its feathers--which glow in seven colors depending on the angle at which they are struck by light--are thought to bring joy.
